Chemical and Biological Properties of Potted-Soil for Strawberry Cultivation

نویسندگان

چکیده

Strawberries in tropical West Java are cultivated intensively potted soil but the substrate condition received less attention. The objective of this descriptive research was to evaluate chemical and macronutrient profile potted-soils for strawberry cultivation, determine beneficial microbes’ population root-free bulk rhizosphere potted-strawberry. samples collected from 12-months one-month-old strawberry; both contained Inceptisols order with 10 t/ha 25 manure respectively. proximate analysis performed using Association Official Analytical Chemists Method. microbial enumeration by Serial Dilution Plate Method specific medium. results showed that soils were not saline, slightly acid, low organic carbon high cation exchange capacity. reactions suitable electrical conductivity too growth. have very nitrogen ratio, total potential P2O5 K2O. phosphate-solubilizing bacteria, nitrogen-fixing Azotobacter, bacteria fungi old low; its counts increased manure-treated soil. ratios count only 1.0-1.25. study verified doses matter should be increased, while decreasing fertilizer level.

Effect of 10-year continuous saffron cultivation on physical and chemical properties of soil

The effect of 10-year continuous saffron cultivation on physical and chemical properties of a silty clay loam soil was investigated in a research farm of College of Agriculture, Shiraz University, Shiraz (52 º 33ʹ E Longitude and 29º 36ʹ N latitude), Iran. This farm was irrigated with different regimes (100% of saffron's potential evapotranspiration (ETp), 75%ETp, 50%ETp) including rain fed tre...

Effect of different poultry wastes on physical, chemical and biological properties of soil

The effect of poultry waste application on physicochemical and biological properties of sandy clay loam soil was investigated on a 7m X 7m plot of land. Plot was divided into four portions and 7.5kg each of broiler, cockerel and layers waste was applied to plot A, B, and C in slurry form while plot D was used as control(no application) for eight weeks with two weeks interval. After the fourth a...

Evaluation of chemical and biological consequences of soil sterilization methods

Sterilized soils are commonly used for the study of xenobiotic sorption and as an abiotic control in biodegradation experiments. They are also used for the chemical study of nitrogen and carbon cycle processes and the elimination of the biological factors. In this research the effects of different soil sterilization methods such as autoclaving, fumigating and exposure to ultraviolet and microwa...
